Welsome to the team - Errol Flanagan

One of the amazing things about Ireland is that because its so small even the furthest corner of the country isn't that far away, that's a good thing for us, as we've had so many opportunities to hang out with our next addition to the team, Sligo man Errol Flanagan. Errol is a beast on a bike and we were already talking about him joining the team at some point, this latest edit made that decision even easier. Welcome to the team Errol!

Welcome to the team - Daniel Mulhare

Our third but not the final announcement this week, We are welcoming Daniel Mulhare to the Boardroom team. We've loved watching Dan's riding improve over the years and this year we really took notice of his riding, instagram and edits he had bits in had all been really great, then this banging entry video helped seal the deal, it just made sense that Dan would be joining the Boardroom crew for 2016. Welcome to the team Dan!

Welcome To The Team - Dion Mc Garrity

Along with yesterday's announcement about new team member, Chris, we're stoked to share another addition to the crew. This time, it's Dublin skater, Dion Mc Garrity.
Dion kills it, and you'll see that in his raw footage edit. Solid moves and well filmed, we were really into what he's doing. Welcome to the team, Dion!

Welcome to the team - Chris O'Neill

We'd like to welcome our first new team member Chris O'Neill to the crew, hailing from Athlone, Chris's edit blew us away with his level of riding in this short but very impressive entry to our Join the team competition. Chris was an easy first choice for us, between this edit and him showing up at our last Bmx jam in Greystones where he proceeded to leave everyone's jaws dropped throughout the day, Nice one Chris!

Lost in transition - The search for the Death bowl - DIG BMX

I have a lot of respect for the kind of bloke that's going to travel across the world, still put in a few days travel through hell within that country all to ride one legendary spot way out of most riders comfort zone. This tale is epic and by far the best thing that has happened on the internet in months, if this documentary of their trips anything to go by then we'll all be needing a copy of that DIG 99.5 Book!

A DIG BMX Documentary Production | Directed by Fraser Byrne | Photography by George Marshall

Sometimes the greatest adventures are a blast into the unknown and when Greg Illingworth and Kevin Kalkoff set out to find the long lost Death Bowl on a four day mission from mainland Japan all the way to the island of Hokkaido, no one knew what the outcome would be. What ensued was a terrifying ferry crossing, driving around the clock and the complete lack of certainty of the outcome. Needless to say things didn't go quite according to plan at the beginning of the trip but would they be able to scrape it back and get to ride the mysterious transitions they put so much effort into finding? Special thanks from DIG to Monster Energy for helping to make this happen, Vans with their support for the video, Eriko and Kaku at Wheelies bike shop, and Ryan Corrigan and Leigh Ramsdell. For the full story and extended photo feature by George Marshall check out our one-off limited edition publication DIG Magazine Issue 99.5.
